Background Check

The Alabama State Department of Education is in the process of changing their fingerprinting vendor. The information below is no longer accurate. The new vendor will be online in mid-March. We will update this page at that time.

 

All new employees must successfully pass a background check.  Please follow the below directions on how to complete the background check through 3M Cogent Systems.

The Alabama Applicant Processing Service (AAPS) Electronic Fingerprint Fee is $50.25.

  1. Register online here
  2. Print the Proof of Transaction Receipt
  3. Follow this link to locate the Fingerprinting Site nearest you
  4. Take the required documents to the fingerprinting site.

Please note, 3M Cogent requires current, valid and unexpired picture identification documents.  As a primary form of picture identification, a State-issued driver's license may be presented by an applicant when being fingerprinted.  In the absence of a new driver's license, click here for a list of acceptable secondary documents.
