🚌 Thank you to our incredible bus drivers! 🚌
We’d like to recognize this special group of people who play an important role in the safety of our students every day—our school bus drivers. Rain or shine, they ensure our kids get to school and back home safely. 💛
Let’s give them a round of applause for all they do, especially as we celebrate National School Bus Safety Week! 👏

🚌 It's National School Bus Safety Week! 🛑
This year's theme is "Driving Safely Into the Future," and we want to remind everyone to stay cautious around school buses. Here are a few important tips for parents and drivers:
🚸 Stop when the bus’s red lights are flashing—kids are getting on or off!
🚦 Slow down in school zones and watch for children near bus stops.
📱 Stay focused—put away distractions like phones when driving near buses.
Let’s work together to keep our kids safe as they travel to and from school. Thank you for helping us drive safely into the future!

📌The Board of Education will hold the October Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on October 21, 2024. The meeting will be held at the Pike Road Schools Performing Arts Center located at 9000 Vaughn Road.

🌟 October is Principal Appreciation Month! 🌟
Let's take a moment to recognize our incredible principals and all they do to make our schools a great place. Their leadership and dedication make an impact on our school community. 💙
To our amazing elementary principal, Cyndal Whiten—THANK YOU for your hard work and your passion for education!! 👏👏👏

At Pike Road Elementary, we believe every student deserves to be heard, and that includes our learners who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. These tools are powerful, giving non-verbal or minimally verbal students a way to express their needs, thoughts, and ideas. Here’s why AAC matters in our classrooms: 🔑 Communication is Key: AAC devices give students the ability to communicate, just like their peers. Whether it’s asking for help, sharing a story, or participating in class, these devices unlock their voices. 🗣️ Promoting Inclusion: Using AAC ensures that all students are fully included in classroom discussions and activities. Everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, no matter how they communicate. 💡 Building Confidence: With AAC, students learn that their ideas and contributions matter. When they are empowered to communicate, they gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. 👫 Creating Connections: When students are able to communicate with their peers, it strengthens relationships and builds a more supportive, understanding community in our school. At Pike Road Elementary, we celebrate every voice. Our AAC learners have so much to say, and we are here to support them every step of the way. 💙 Together, we ensure every voice is heard! 🎉 #PikeRoadElementary #AACAwareness #EveryVoiceMatters #InclusiveEducation #SpecialEducation #WeArePikeRoad

Congratulations to our 2024 Pike Road Schools Homecoming Float Winners!

We would like to highlight two of our very own special educators who not only presented at the conference AT Alabama, but had a packed house educating other special education educators throughout Alabama.
They spoke to educators and other professionals about how we used assistive technology in our school at PRES both low tech and high tech devices.
Additionally, the session aimed to equip special education teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively implement assistive technology in their classrooms. Participants learned about various types of assistive technology, practical implementation strategies, and real-life examples.
We are so thankful to have lead learners that inspires our learners, colleagues, and other professionals throughout the state. Job well done Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Mitchell 🔴🔵⚪️

Happening Tomorrow!! ❤️💙
Don't forget to send your learner with cash to purchase their spirit tattoo!!
